Yay!! The Hubs turned in our recycling yesterday...We'd saved up $52.00 worth of recyclables!! We laugh every time he takes our recyclables because, just being the two of us, it takes us almost a year to save up that much...The first time Lonnie loaded up the truck and headed out to the recycling center, we thought we were big time...Nope...$20.00!! heehee...snicker, snicker...
I tried to grab a quick picture of the truck all loaded down, but I just wasn't quick enough :/ -- darn!!
Some fun little recycling factoids:
* Americans go through 25 billion plastic bottles every year...
* More than 50 percent of a new aluminum can is made from recycled aluminum...
* Americans throw away enough glass bottles and jars every two weeks to fill the 1.350-square foot towers of the former World Trade Center.
* Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a 100-watt bulb for 20 hours, a computer for 3 hours, or a TV for 2 hours...Wow!!

I bet that truck load looked great!! Our girlies recycle year round. We don't drink canned soda and only buy 2ltrs every so often so they get most of their recycling from the local park :-)
They are saving up for a goat, to sell milk, to buy a horse :-) The motivation is wonderful~
